In the end of my travel of Southeast Asia I will announce the best food I have eaten during my travel in Southeast Asia. I picked best 3 dishes in each country.
東南アジアの旅の最後に旅の間食べた最もうまかったものを発表しようと思います。それぞれの国で3品を選びました。

(1) Koaw Soi -Deep fried noodle with curry soup, Nan
揚げ麺の入ったカレースープ、ナン
2 kinds of noodle of fried noodle and regular noodle in the curry soup. You can enjoy 2 kinds of texture of noodle at the same time. I have never experienced this mixed texture of noodle in my life. You eat this dish with adding raw onion and squeezing lime. Raw onions give you freshness in the strong flavor of curry and complex of texture inside your mouth. This dish exists only north part of Thailand. The dish which I tried in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai were so so. In my experience the dish in the local restaurant in Nan city has the best flavor as Chumpon always brings his guest there. I have eaten this dish so many times during my residency in Nan.
揚げた麺と普通の麺の両方がカレースープの中に入っている。二つの違う麺の食感を一度に味わうことができる。この揚げ麺と生麺の組み合わせは、今まで人生で食べたことのない食感の衝撃を与えてくれた。これに生玉ねぎを加えて、ライムを絞って食べる。生玉ねぎがカレーのクドさに爽やかさをもたらし、食感に更なる複雑さをもたらしてくれる。タイの北部だけに存在する料理で、同じく北部のチェンマイやチェンライでも試したが味はいまひとつで、ナンの町にある大衆向け食堂のものが絶品だった。ナンのレジデンス中、最も何回も食べた食事。
(2) Meat Soup, Chian Rai
肉スープ, チェンライ
In the part of the huge artist studio space the artist from Chiang Rai runs there are a restaurant where is famous locally for meat soup. They put different part of meat all together in the soup. When I tasted it, I thought they must be using good meat to cook it. The flavor of soup has tender to make the taste of meat better. It was the best meat dish I have eaten in Thailand so far. As it was so yummy, I could not stop eating 2 bowls continuously.
巨大なアーティストスタジオスペースの一画に、チェンライ出身のアーティストが地元では有名な肉スープのレストランを運営している。様々な肉の部位を全て一緒にスープの中に入れている。食べてみればわかるが、厳選されたいい肉を使っているに違いないと思う。スープの味は肉のうまみを引き立てる優しい味。タイで食べた肉料理で一番うまかった。あまりのうまさに、二杯続けてたいらげた。
(3) Desert of coconut milk soup, Nan
ココナツミルクスープのデザート、ナン
This desert is sold in the restaurant of the deep fried noodle with curry soup. When we went to eat the deep fried noodle with curry soup, I always ordered this as a desert in the end. The sweetness of coconut milk soup is not too sweet, really tender flavor. Inside the soup they put many sweet things like fresh fruits, dried fruits, jerry, tapioca, small bread, corn,,etc. When you scoop the thing into your mouth one by one, you can taste everything has different texture and flavor. When they bring this dish, they put ice. During your eating it, ice naturally starts melting and then it becomes nice sweet cold soup.
揚げ麺の入ったカレースープのレストランにあるデザート。揚げ麺の入ったカレースープを食べるたびに、これをデザートとして頼んだ。ココナツミルクスープの甘さは優しい味。スープの中にフレッシュフルーツ、ドライフルーツ、ゼリー、タピオカ、小さなパン、とうもろこしなどが入っている。すくって一つ一つ口に運ぶと、全ての味や食感が違うことを楽しめる。氷が入った状態で出されるが、食べている間に氷は溶けて程よい感じの冷たい甘いスープになる。

(1) Soto
ソト(インドネシア式スープ料理)
Indonesian people often eat this for their breakfast. They put rice in the soup. But it's not like the porridge. It has really tender flavor. The taste is similar with Japanese Ochazuke. So I felt nostalgic with eating it as a Japanese. I never felt bored to eat it. I can eat this dish everyday. I squeeze lime before eating it.
インドネシアの人はよくこれを朝飯として食べるらしい。スープの中に米を入れているが、おかゆではない。とてもやさしい味。日本のお茶漬けに近い味で、日本人として郷愁にひたれる。全く飽きのこない味で、毎日食べられる味。ライムを絞って食す。
(2) Avocado juice
アボガドジュース
When I find the fresh juice stand on the way to somewhere, I often asked Fajar to stop there to drink fresh juice together. As the juice stand in Indonesia always have many kind of fruits, I always tried some tropical fruit juice which I have never tried before. But Fajar only orders an Avocado juice every time when we go to the juice stand. I have been curious why Fajar only order the Avocado juice. When I was alone, I tried to order the Avocado juice on my own. It is sweet juice like fruits juice. I guess they put sugar and chocolate sauce together with Avocado. As I always eat Avocado as vegetable, it was completely mind blowing taste for me. As it was so yummy with rich taste of Avocado, I could not stop ordering 2 glass of Avocado juice. It's really popular in Indonesia. I have to try to make it on my own.
どこかに向かう最中にジューススタンドを見つけると、ファジャーに止まるように言って、一緒にフルーツジュースを飲むのが常だった。インドネシアのジューススタンドには常に様々な種類のフルーツがあるので、自分はいつも試した事のないトロピカルフルーツを注文していた。しかし、ジューススタンドに行くと、ファジャーはいつもアボガドジュースしか注文しないのだ。何故ファジャーがアボガドジュースしか頼まないのか興味があったので、一人の時に試しに飲んでみた。フルーツジュースのように甘い味で、おそらく砂糖とチョコレートソースをアボガドと一緒に入れているようだ。アボガドはいつも野菜として食べていたので、完全に自分の規制概念を覆す味覚だった。アボガドのコクが効いて滅茶苦茶うまいので、続けて二杯頼んでしまった。インドネシアでは人気のようである。簡単そうなので自分で試しに作ってみようと思う。
(3) Baun
バウン
The local buffet style restaurant where I visited almost everyday for my lunch. It's located really close to the Ruang MES 56. Most of buffet style restaurant near from the MES 56 in Yogyakarta have meat, fish and various curry. But they don't have so much vegetable dishes. But the Baun has many various vegetable dishes. The price was also cheap. If you picked something you want to eat, they circulate the price according to the amount you picked. So I went there almost everyday except Sunday when they are closed. The taste is really domestic style flavor and nothing so special. But I have to nominate this restaurant as I have visited there most.
お昼ご飯のためほぼ毎日通ったビュッフェ式レストラン。ルアングメス56からすごく近くにある。MES 56から近くにあるジョグジャカルタのほとんどのビュッフェ式レストランは肉や魚や様々な種類のカレーはあるが、ほとんど野菜がないのである。しかし、バウンには様々な野菜料理もある。値段も安い。食べたいものを取ると、取った量に応じて値段を計算してくれる。店が閉まる日曜以外ほとんど毎日通っていた。味は家庭料理のような味で別に特別なものでもないが、最も通った店なのでノミネートしようと思う。

(1) Salted Egg Fried Chicken

I can never forget about the taste of the special fried chicken dish which is not in the menu of the Chinese restaurant where Ah Piao took me in the 1st day of my arrival in Kuala Lumpur. When I visited the restaurant on my own a few days later, I tried to described the detail of the Chicken dish which is not in the menu in the restaurant. But they brought the different fried chicken dish. Since then I have kept going to the same restaurant on my own to try to order the dish in my memory. Even after I asked Piao how to order this dish to him, the dish they bring to me has been always the different taste with the one I ate in the 1st day. Up to now I could have never eaten the same tasted dish in my memory again.
クアランプールに着いた初日にピャオが連れて行ってくれた中華レストランのメニューに載ってない鳥の唐揚げの味が忘れられない。自分で数日後訪れてそのメニューにない鳥の唐揚げを頼もうとして詳細を伝えたが出て来たのもは違うものだった。その後、何度も自分の記憶にある料理を頼もうと何度もレストランに通った。ピャオにどのように頼むか聞いたあとでさえ、出て来た料理は最初の日と味が微妙に違うものだった。今までところ、記憶にある鳥の唐揚げを一度も食べられていない。
(2) Malay style fried chicken rice
マレースタイルのフライドチキン・ライス
The restaurant is located near from Lostgens. If you eat fried chicken together with sauce or peanuts or fried fish, each way bring nice harmony in your mouth. It is sophisticated taste.
This dish is the most popular dish in the restaurant. They often have long queue during the lunch time.
このレストランはロストジェンの近くにある。このフライドチキンとソース、もしくはピーナッツもしくは干した魚と一緒に食べると口のなかで素晴らしいハーモニーをもたらしてくれる。洗練された味である。この料理はこのレストランで一番人気の料理で、昼飯時にはよく行列ができている。
(3) Chicken Rice, Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur
鶏めし、中華街、クアラルンプール
The dish I have eaten most in Kuala Lumpur. I always order 2 kind of chickens with different flavor.
And I also order 2 kind of dumplings together with chicken rice. This way of order makes me really satisfied. Though there're the most famous another chicken rice restaurant in the China town, I found the attitude of the woman in the restaurant was really rude to me. Since then I have never visited there again. So I always go the different chicken rice restaurant in front of the train station near from Lostgens. The taste is good enough for me as I know I can hardly eat this real Chinese taste in Japan or island of Ireland where I have been based in.
この料理はクアルルンプールで最も何回も食べたもの。いつも違う味の二種類の鶏肉を注文する。それと一緒に二種類のシュウマイも注文するのが常。この注文方は食べた後、完璧な満足感を与えてくれる。最も有名なチキンライスの店があるのだが、そこに行った時、働いている女性店員が失礼だったので、以降行かなくなった。なのでいつも駅前のロストジェン近くの違うチキンレストランに通っている。この味は日本や拠点としているアイルンド島で食べることが困難な本格的な中華の味であることはわかっているので、自分にとって十分うまく満足のいくものだ。
