Arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia / マレーシアのクアラルンプールに到着

Finally I started the last residency of my half year travel in Southeast Asia. My final destination was Lostegens' Contemporary Art Space, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is the 20th residencies in my entire career. When I arrived there, the director of Yeoh Lian Heng was not there to curate the exhibition which will open tomorrow. Instead Ah Piao who sometimes work for the space has been waiting for my arrival. He explained me the space only open for the event and exhibition.
ついに、東南アジアの半年の旅の最後のレジデンスを始めた。最終目的地のマレーシアのクアラルンプールにあるロストジェン・コンテンポラリー・アート・スペース。自分のキャリアで通算20個目のレジデンスになる。自分が到着した時、ディレクターのヤオは、彼がキュレーションしている明日から始まる展覧会のために現地にはいなかった。時々スペースで働くピャオが自分の到着を待っていてくれた。彼によればスペースは展覧会やイベント開催時以外は閉まっているということだ。

From the back door of Lostgens' if we climb up the stairs a lot of cool mural paintings on the walls, And on the rooftop of the building the rockers were playing music loudly. There was an interesting coffee bar there.
ロストジェンのバックドアから階段を上がると、カッコいい壁画がたくさん描かれていた。屋上に上がると、ロッカーが大音量でロックを演奏していた。そこにいい感じのカフェバーがあった。

Piao took me outside afterward to eat a dinner together. It was definitely the best Chinese food since I started traveling Southeast Asia.　
ピャオが一緒に晩御飯を食べに連れて言ってくれる。それは間違い無く、東南アジアの旅を初めてから一番最高の中華料理だった。

And I realized Lostgens’ is actually located in the China Town. Every Chinese food  I eat around here is so yummy.

そして、ロストジェンが中華街にあることに気づいた。この辺りで食べる全ての中華が本当にうまい。

Next day Yeoh took me to the opening of exhibition he curated. The exhibition is about the disease which existed in the area historically. A lot of politics behind it. He introduced me some art activists there.
次の日ヤオがキュレーションした展覧会のオープニングに連れて行ってくれた。展覧会は歴史的に現地で存在していた病気の展覧会で、多くの政治が絡んでいた。彼に現地で何人かのアートアクティビストを紹介された。

As a part of the opening event we planted flowers there together.

After the meeting a lot of art works for up-coming exhibition were carried into the Lostgens’.
ミーティングの後、次の展覧会のための作品が大量にロストジェンに運び込まれて来た。

At this time I only have one month for my residency in Malaysia (Other 2 previous residencies in Thailand, Indonesia, I have had 2 months time), after buying a big glass bottle in the local shop, I have started trying the 1st experiment with using leaky water tank of my toilet.
今回は一ヶ月しかレジデンスの滞在時間がないので、早速見た目のいい大きなガラスの瓶を地元の店で購入して、自分のトイレの漏れる水のタンクを利用して最初の実験を始めた。
