Feeling better after accepting all conditions and problems / 全ての状況や問題を受け入れたことで楽になる

I attended the meeting of protesting the construction of a new airport in Yogakarta as Akiq asked me if I am interested in their activities.
アキがジョグジャカルタの新空港建設の抗議活動に興味あるか聞かれたので、ミーティングに参加してきた。

Akiq and Anang tried to fly a hand made kite as a part of their protesting activities. Though their kite had a nice design, it was not easy to fly with complicated shape actually. I thought a Japanese square shaped kite must be easier to fly as I was used to make it when I was a child. If I have a chance to make it before my leaving Indonesia, I wanted show them with making it.
アキとアナンが抗議活動の一貫で、手作りの凧をあげようとしていた。カッコいいデザインだが、複雑な形のため飛ばすのが大変だった。子供頃によく作っていたように、日本の四角の凧の方が飛ばすの簡単だろうなと思った。インドネシアを去る前にもし機会があるなら、彼らに作って見せたいなと思った。

Since Itaru-san arrived in Yogya, he has kept coming to the MES everyday to drink. He has kindly helped me to prepare for my show. Thank you so much Itaru-san!

格さんがジョクジャについてから、メスに毎日飲みにやってくるようになった。親切にも自分の展覧会の準備を手伝ってくれている。格さん、どうもありがとうございます！

The space of the MES has numerous minor problems like no sink in the bathroom,  many cockroaches, dripping rain water from the leaky ceiling, no tools to make art works, etc.  These minor problems have actually given me motivation and subjects to work with as an artist in a positive way. In fact, I have realized several site-specific interventions which have responded to the environment. I felt much better after accepting all conditions and problems.

メスには洗面台のないバスルーム、多くのゴキブリ、雨漏りする天井、作品を作る道具が全くないこと等、小さな問題がたくさんあった。実際のところ、このようなたくさんの問題がアーティストとして作品をつくる上での動機や課題を与えてくれたのである。結果として、いくつかの環境にリスポンスするサイトスペシフィックで場に根ざしたインターべションを実現することとなった。全ての状況や問題を受け入れることで気分が楽になった。

雨漏りする屋根からの落ちる水で穴のあいたコンクリートの床

With using the hole of the concrete floor and dripping rain water from the leaky ceiling,  I installed a Japanese traditional kinetic bamboo water tube.

コンクリートの床の穴と天井からの雨漏りを利用して、ししおどしを設置した。

Using the leaking gallery wall and rubbishes, I also made another installation with help of Itaru-san. We made where the rain water flows.

格さんの助けのもと、雨漏りのするギャラリーの壁とゴミを使い、インスタレーションを作った。雨水が流れる通り道を作った。

And, hard rain started in the night time. It worked successfully for the 1st time. Everybody gave a glad shout for me.

そして、夜中に大雨が降り始める。初めてうまく動いて、皆が自分のために歓声をあげる。
